‘Design an object that performs the chopping action.’ This was our starting point, and through brainstorming and subsequent creative development, we decided to create an object for breaking ice.
We aimed to establish a context and connect our product to a current trend: Instagram. To bridge these elements, we came up with the idea of creating a hashtag (#brokice). The goal was to develop more than just an object so we create a social movement within a specific context. We focused on a popular trend among teenagers: gathering to drink in the streets or cars before heading to the nightclub.
